ハウパーヴィラへようこそ / Welcome to Haw Par Villa.

タイガーバームの売上げで1937年（太平洋戦争前！）に作られました。/This park was built in 1937, by founders of the Tiger Balm company.

しつこいようですがタイガーバームの売上げで、タイガーバーム社の創業者Aw Boon HawとAw Boon Parによって建てられました。だからHaw Par Villa。そして虎の車。/It’s originally called “Tiger Balm Gardens”, and now is called Haw Par Villa named by Aw Boon Haw and Aw Boon Par, the founder.

園内には中国文化的な地獄・極楽を紹介するジオラマがたくさん。手始めに生首。/You will see many statues and dioramas describing Chinese hell and heaven　in the park

地獄門。/The gate of the hell.

地獄門をくぐると閻魔様的な神々に審判されて、罪に応じた地獄に落とされるのは日本も中国も同じようです。/When you enter the gate, the hell gods judge which hell you need to go. It’s similar mythology among China and Japan.

地獄を出ると、なぜか仏様がタワーのてっぺんに。ここから極楽、たぶん。/You will see Buddha on the top of the tower when you go out from the hell… It’s heaven here, maybe?

自由の女神もあります。さすが極楽。/You will see Liberty of Statue too…

相撲力士もいます。タイガーバームとともに。/a Sumo wrestler is also available, with Tiger balm…

よくわからん地獄絵図的ジオラマもあります。山海経？/Diorama describing hell, probably.

封神演義の世界はふつうに見応えありました。

シンガポールの友人の中には「several times!」行ったことのある人も。（個人的には）セントーサ島よりおすすめです。/One of my Singaporean friend went there several times, she said. It’s worth to visit!
